Valve supply chain services · Malaysia, China & Vietnam

The valve supply chain,
handled end to end.

We develop the suppliers, negotiate the cost, inspect the goods, assemble the documents and ship the order — for buyers of industrial valves and components across North America and Europe.

Who we are

Not a trading desk. A supply chain function with its own API-licensed plants.

Buyers of Asian-made valves usually face the same trade-off: deal with a factory that can only offer what its own machines produce, or deal with a trading company that forwards your email and adds a margin.

PONHAN sits outside that trade-off. The group runs its own API-monogram-licensed plants in China and Vietnam, and sources beyond them when a specification is better served elsewhere. We hold the inspection presence and the export paperwork, and we answer for the result. One contract in Malaysia, one team on the factory floors.

  • One contracting party. PONHAN SDN. BHD. is the seller on the invoice, the shipper on the documents, and the party accountable when something is wrong.
  • Licensed where it counts. Group plants in Suzhou, Dongtai and Nhon Trach hold active API monogram licences — gate, globe, check, ball, butterfly and pipeline valves — audited by API and stamped on the nameplate.
  • Not limited to our own plants. Where the spec is better served elsewhere, we qualify sources across the clusters — casting, forging and machining capacity in Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Fujian, with second sources in place before you need them.

What we do

Six core services that cover the distance between your PO and the container.

Take all six, or take the one that is currently costing you the most. Each is priced and scoped separately.

01

Supplier Development

Factory audits, capability and capacity checks, sample qualification, and a second source lined up before the first one fails.

02

Cost & Negotiation

Should-cost breakdowns, parallel RFQs to several mills, and commercial terms negotiated on material, machining, testing and tooling.

03

Sourcing Inspection

Inspection and test plans with hold points, dimensional checks on the floor, and witnessed pressure testing before the goods leave.

04

Documentation

Material certificates, dimensional and test reports, painting records and export papers that your quality department accepts first time.

05

Logistics & Consolidation

Several suppliers, one shipment. Export-grade packing, container planning and FOB, CIF or DDP terms arranged from either side.

Product scope

What we source

Our work is concentrated in valves and valve components, so the supplier list is deep rather than wide. These are the six families we handle every week.

Cast steel gate valve

Gate Valves

API 600 / 603 · cast & forged steel · bolted bonnet, OS&Y

Swing check valve

Check Valves

API 600 / 6D · swing & piston · bolted or pressure-seal cover

Three-piece floating ball valve

Ball Valves

API 608 / 6D · 1, 2 & 3-piece · floating and trunnion

Wafer butterfly valve

Butterfly Valves

API 609 · wafer & lug · lever, gear or actuated

Gear-operated gate valve

Gear-operated

Bevel gear, gearbox and actuation packages across the range

Cast iron gate valve

Iron & Brass

Utility service · gate, check, ball & strainers · water, HVAC

Also sourced: globe and plug valves, strainers and actuation packages.

Components & spares

The parts around the valve, with the same discipline behind them.

For most plants, the recurring spend is not the valve — it is what wears out on it. We supply valve components and replacement parts as a proper supply line: matched to drawing or sample, traceable to heat number, and consolidated with your valve shipments.

  • Stems, wedges, discs and seat rings — machined to drawing or reverse-engineered from a sample part, with a dimensional report either way.
  • Packing, gaskets and seals — graphite, PTFE and spiral-wound, selected against the actual service conditions.
  • Bolting, handwheels, gear operators and mounting kits — matched to the valve series they fit.
  • Castings and forgings — rough or finish-machined; carbon, low-alloy, stainless and duplex (HS 8481.90, 7307).
  • Kits and replenishment — matched sets per valve size packed as one line item, with min/max stocking on repeat parts.

How we work

From a part number to a repeatable supply line.

The first order is the expensive one — that is where the specification, the supplier and the inspection plan get settled. After that it should become routine.

STEP 01

Spec & risk review

Drawings, datasheets and the standard you are buying to. We tell you where the supply risk sits before you commit.

STEP 02

Supplier shortlist

Two to four qualified sources per line, screened on process capability, machine list and current load.

STEP 03

Qualification

Samples or first articles, material certificates verified against the heat numbers, witness tests where required.

STEP 04

Pilot order

Production monitored at hold points, pre-shipment inspection, document package closed before the container is sealed.

STEP 05

Repeat supply

Consolidated shipments, stocking programmes, and a quarterly review of supplier performance with the numbers attached.

Standards

We work to the standard on your drawing, not the one that is convenient.

Design and test standards are agreed at quotation stage and written into the purchase order, so there is no argument later about which edition applies.

To be explicit: API monogram licences are held by the group's manufacturing entities — PONHAN VALVE (SUZHOU) CO., LTD. and Ponhan Valve International (Vietnam) Co., Ltd. — and can be verified on API's Composite List. PONHAN SDN. BHD. is the contracting and service entity.
